Ann Menezies is a Tasmanian-based, fine brush painter. Her oil paintings have echoed spiritual practices for many decades. Menezies combines a multi-layering style with refined impressionist brush strokes to create works which are vibrant, ethereal and solid.

Menezies has long been fascinated with religion and images describing the sacred. She asks the eternal questions of life purpose and relationship with God and constantly seeks answers through her work by exploring and developing her own spiritual practices. Through her Sydney portrait series, her Tasmanian landscapes and now, her contemporary still-lifes, she examines themes of materialism, prayer, and our inner spiritual landscapes.

Her aim is to open up conversations around the inner world of the individual. No matter how seemingly absurd, she believes peoples inner realms are their special places and a source of power and personal growth. Menezies seeks to empower this position through her art.

Menezies has exhibited in many group and solo exhibitions over the years, and currently balances raising her two young boys and relief teaching with her art practice.
