Shell Stacks
The stacks are reminiscent of rock stacks or cairns, created through the ages to ease transit, often on difficult mountainous walks to temples. These stacks signify my personal journey as I come closer to my goal of personally feeling and understanding my relationship with the spirit world. The background layers are gentle, semi-transparent layers of meditative colour immersion. Each of the objects was hind-picked on what I came to call the Goddess Walks I had along the beach. In the walks I would physically and spiritually embody the Goddess. If a rock, shell or other piece ‘sang out’ to me I would pick it up and feel a message from the Goddess to me. A shell may speak of how being tossed and battered from the metaphorical waves of life does not diminish one’s beauty. How there is strength in being honest about one’s story, however turbulent. A seed pod may hold a teaching about beginning again with anew idea. A rock may have messages of old wisdom, a feather about noticing details. The arrangements are also symbolic of our Chakra system and for specific people, these paintings may have messages of their strengths and messages through each chakra.
