My Mountain Mount Wellington, or Kunanyai in Southern Tasmania. The mountain overshadows most poeples view from their houses if they live in the Hobart area. The mountains tells us about the weather that day. It gives us a feeling of rest and of stability. We take our children there and experience snow or wildlife or wind and cold temperatures! The mountains are secred places in many cultures, being a gateway to the heavens. A home of the Gods or the Goddess. This painting depicts the mountain seeing us through our many phases of our lives. Whatever we go through, the mountain is stable. The rock in the ofrground is an example of the igneous dolerite which the mountain is made of. It looks like a dragon egg, full of adventure and promise. It reminds us that we need to climb over obstacles every day on our journeys.
